• Local market - every Thursday and Sunday morning, from 7am - 1pm, there is a typical French food market in L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue.

EXPLORE THE LUBERON REGION

Luberon is known for towns such as Gordes, Bonnieux, Ménerbes, Roussillon and L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue. The reigion is also famous for wine, lavender and olive gardens. These are our best tips:

• Antiques - L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue is known for its antique shops and antique market. On Sundays there is an antique market around Avenue des Quatre Otages. 

• Gordes - Drive to Gordes, rated one of the most beautiful towns in the world! Next to Gordes there is a famous monastery called, Abbaye Notre-Dame de Sénanque, surrounded by lavender fields. 

• Colorado Provençal - Do a day trip to what's called the French Grand Canyon, Colorado Provençal, an ochre colored canyon.

• Chateau-neuf-du-Pape - This renowned wine region is right nearby. Do a wine tasting at a vineyard in Chateau-neuf-du-Pape. 

• Lavender trail - Le chemin des lavandes in the town of Sault has the most lavender in Procence. This is a wonderful way to explore the lavender in bloom. 

• Kayak in Verdon Gorge - this is Europe's largest canyon. You can kayak on the river. The river ends in lake Sainte-Croix where you can enjoy a swim in turquoise waters. 

• Hiking - If you enjoy hiking, don't miss hiking in the Luberon mountains. Luberon is both the name of the region and the mountain ridge. 

• L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue - Explore the village L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue, with its many restaurants, boutiques, and historical sites.
